Malcolm Kenyon, 25, of West Chester, has been charged for possessing, collecting, and soliciting sexually explicit images and videos from minors over the internet, the DA detailed in the release.
His preliminary arraignment was held before Magisterial District Judge Martin Goch on Tuesday, Oct.8, 2024, where cash bail of $750,000.
This is his second time being arrested and charged for sharing child pornography online, the DA explained. He was slapped with 100 counts of child pornography possession on Tuesday, April 9, and has been incarcerated on $250,000 bail since then.
At the time of publishing the investigators knew of Kenyon soliciting and obtaining sexually explicit images and videos from children via Snapchat and other social media platforms since at least Dec. 2023, but they think this has been going on "for years," according to the criminal complaint.
The Chester County Detectives/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a Cyber Tip report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a Dropbox account that uploaded a file containing child sexual abuse material, around that time, prompting the investigation which led them to Kenyon's home in West Goshen Township. His IP address and Snapchat, Discord, and Google accounts matched the Dropbox account details and contained numerous sexually explicit communications with children, according to the complaint.
In addition to images, Kenyon also made "suggestions of meeting for sex," as stated in the release. So far, investigators have identified five juvenile victims through his Snapchat username “oop_0719” and screenname “OShiTM”.
Chester County District Attorney Christopher L. de Barrena-Sarobe said:
“Parents should remember that when you give a child a phone, you are giving the world access to your child. Take steps to educate your child about the internet while restricting and monitoring your child’s applications and social media usage.”
The Chester County Detectives are the lead investigating agency.
First Assistant District Attorney Erin O’Brien is the assigned prosecutor.
